Fourth Annual Show n´ Shine for Hunger raises $46K for local food banks

Proceeds up $5,400 from 2010.

Richland, August 15, 2011: The fourth annual Show n´ Shine for Hunger, held by the Mid-Columbia Mopar Car Club, raised $46,000 to benefit Tri-City Food Bank this year. More than 200 cars were on display at the show, held Sunday, August 7, 2011.

Through the food bank’s buying agreements, the $46,000 donation will purchase $138,000 worth of food for our community. To date, the annual Show n´ Shine has donated $122,755 which equals $340,000 of buying power for the Food Bank. Every penny raised by the Show n´ Shine is given directly to the Food Bank, and the car show expenses are paid by local car clubs, to maximize the food bank donations.

The majority of the donations come from local businesses and corporate sponsors. The remainder is generated by the car show.

Thank you to all who supported the event!
